The marathon course is a Boston Qualifier. All the Martian courses are USTF Certified, wide, traffic free, beautiful and lightly rolling. The race heads northwest, into the prevailing wind, a wind that usually does not pick up until later in the day. Because it is out and back, you have an excellent chance for a tailwind finish. The course follows a river, slightly upstream, so it gains slightly in elevation on the way out and is a bit of a downhill on the way back. It does not get any better. Only one slight problem ... If the park floods, we suggest a mask and snorlel so you can see the mile marks. Seriously, the park floods often but the water rarely covers both lanes of the road so don't worry, just run.
